PolitA Institute Head Publishes Article on Moldova’s Democratic Path

The Head of the Institute for Democracy and Development “PolitA”, Kateryna Odarchenko, has published an analytical article for the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) titled “Moldova’s Voters and the Russian Bear Paw.”

In her analysis, Odarchenko stresses that the September 2025 elections in Moldova represent not only a crucial domestic political moment but also a regional challenge to democracy and European integration.

Russian Hybrid Tactics Threatening Democracy

The article highlights multiple forms of Russian hybrid warfare:

  • illicit financing and vote-buying,
  • cryptocurrency-based money flows,
  • manipulation of the Moldovan diaspora,
  • and aggressive disinformation campaigns.

Odarchenko argues that these tactics seek to undermine Moldova’s democratic institutions and weaken its European aspirations.
