Kateryna Odarchenko, President of the Institute for Democracy and Development PolitA, has published a new article on the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA).

In her latest publication, “Ukraine’s Women: Warriors Not Victims,” Odarchenko highlights the transformation of Ukrainian women’s roles during the war, emphasizing their leadership, resilience, and active participation in defending and rebuilding the country.

The article challenges outdated perceptions that portray women primarily as victims of conflict. Instead, it presents Ukrainian women as decision-makers, defenders, and key contributors to national resilience.

Drawing on real-life examples, Odarchenko demonstrates how women across Ukraine are taking on critical responsibilities — from military service and volunteer coordination to leadership in civil society and local governance.

According to Odarchenko, Ukrainian women are playing a central role not only in wartime survival but also in shaping the country’s future. Their involvement in strategic, humanitarian, and institutional efforts reflects a broader shift toward more inclusive and dynamic leadership in Ukraine.

This transformation is becoming an important element of Ukraine’s democratic development and international image.

The publication contributes to the global conversation about Ukraine by highlighting the strength of its society and the evolving role of women in times of crisis. It reinforces the message that Ukraine is not only resisting aggression but also building a modern, resilient, and inclusive state.

As President of the Institute for Democracy and Development PolitA, Kateryna Odarchenko continues to actively promote Ukraine’s perspectives in leading international platforms and policy discussions.
