From March 31 to April 2, prominent Ukrainian political consultant and civic leader Kateryna Odarchenko participated in Baltic Advocacy Days 2025, an annual initiative organized by the Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC). The event brought together key voices from the Baltic states and allied nations to strengthen U.S.-Baltic cooperation and promote shared security interests, including the fight against disinformation and the advancement of the Baltic Security Initiative.

Held in the heart of the U.S. capital, Baltic Advocacy Days serves as a vital platform for dialogue between policymakers, civil society leaders, and international partners. During the three-day event, Kateryna Odarchenko joined a series of high-level meetings with members of the U.S. Congress and Senate, engaging in critical discussions on information security, cybersecurity, and regional resilience.

Among the key topics was the growing threat of disinformation campaigns, particularly those targeting democratic institutions in Eastern Europe and the Baltics. Odarchenko and her colleagues presented a specialized report on disinformation threats, which was distributed to all Congressional offices they met with.

🔍 Key meetings included:

  • Rep. Jamie Raskin (Maryland): His office expressed readiness to collaborate with the U.S. State Department on combating disinformation.
  • Sen. Chris Van Hollen (Maryland): Voiced strong interest in expanding cybersecurity cooperation.
  • Sen. Sarah Elfreth (Maryland): Emphasized regional security and the strategic importance of countering foreign propaganda.
  • Additional engagement with Rep. Angie Craig, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minnesota), Sen. Jon Ossoff, and Sen. Raphael Warnock (Georgia), all of whom showed commitment to enhancing legislative tools for information security.

“The collaboration between the Baltic nations, Ukraine, and the United States has never been more important,” said Odarchenko. “Disinformation is a direct threat to democracy, and working together to expose and counter these tactics is essential for our shared future.”

Odarchenko also took the opportunity to thank Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia for their steadfast support of Ukraine during its ongoing struggle for sovereignty and freedom. “The Baltic states are not just neighbors — they are defenders of democratic values. Their consistent support for Ukraine is deeply appreciated,” she said.

Advocating for Shared Security and Democratic Resilience

Baltic Advocacy Days 2025 highlighted the need for transatlantic unity in the face of evolving global threats. With security in the Baltic region and Eastern Europe under constant pressure from authoritarian regimes and coordinated information warfare, participants reaffirmed their commitment to democratic resilience, regional security, and stronger bilateral ties.
